Stunning Science That Will Help You Learn

In Te Maunga this week we had a visit from the Northland Science Roadshow. We learnt about rockets, spectroscopy and water testing. When we did rockets we learnt about  what was in rocket gas. I learnt that they use methylated spirits to launch the rocket into outer space. In spectroscopy I learnt that when you look at the sun and it's white it is actually made of lots of colours. I learnt how rainbows are made. Rainbows are made when it rains because the sun reflects off the water droplets. We got glasses to see some cool rainbows. In water testing I learnt that the darkest shade of blue is polluted water and the darkest shade of yellow is

sewage water

Mind Blowing Facts About Cricket

In Te Maunga we have been learning about cricket. I learnt about batting and catching. When you are batting you have to point your foot where you want the ball to go. If you miss the ball and it hits the three wickets that is one bat down. When you are feilding you have to do two things. These two things are using teamwork to get the ball to the bowler and if we catch the ball then we stop the game and swap teams. We played non stop cricket.
